Huawei Announced Top 10 ICT Meritorious Students In The Country. Huawei, the world’s leading ICT solution provider,has announced the names of the top 10 ICT meritorious students from the top five universities of Bangladesh. Today, the names of the selected students were declared on the closing ceremony of the biggest CSR program ‘Seeds for the FUTURE’ 2019 of Bangladesh in Huawei,a hotel in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The program was inaugurated by the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Mustafa Jabbar. Li Gungzun, Economic and Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy of Bangladesh was present as special guest. Besides, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited Jhang Zhenjun also delivered the welcome speech.Huawei Announced Top 10 ICT Meritorious Students In The Country

Ten students selected from Bangladesh through the selection process for ‘Seeds for the FUTURE’ 2019 are selected from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET),Tasfia Jahan and Sarkar Snigdha Surthi,Mayissa Farzana and Kaushik Kumar from Dhaka University, from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Tasfia Sauti and Minhas Bin Faruqi, from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Atia Islam Akhi and Jahidul Islam, from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET),Monisha Dev and Kamrul Hasan.

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited has said in a press release that these students will be taken to Beijing and Shenzhen for two weeks in April, to teach about new technologies in hand-to-hand.

This year the competition started at five universities. A total of 600 students from 120 universities each participated in the primary selection process of this competition. However,75 students of 15 students from each University took part in the second phase of the competition. Through the written and oral examination,15 students of each university finally selected two students. These students were selected with the help of the Departmental Head, Senior Teacher and Huawei Expert Group of every University related department.

Presidency Postal, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said such arrangements would help our young students to move faster on information technology. Huawei must have praised this event. Today we are in a very short time to be completely digital. I thank Huawei for staying next to this adventure. We do not want to get 5G in Bangladesh and one hair is not behind. Huawei has shown that the technology is working at their fingertips. We are already working with Huawei, hopefully we can get five G from 2021 to 2023. But we can ask Huawei that we can bring it earlier.

Li Guangzhun, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, said,’I would like to thank Huawei for creating a platform to raise the capability of the global youth. The ‘Seeds for the FUTURE’ program has been so successful with the spontaneous participation of meritorious students.

On the occasion,Zhang Zhengjun, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited said, ‘Seeds for the FUTURE is the most invested CSR program worldwide. The main objectives of this competition are to assist in improving the efficiency of new ICT meritorious students for innovation in world-class technology. I believe this competition has inspired Bangladeshi students to know about the latest technology and to increase their skills.

Zhang Jengjun said, ‘Huawei will provide all kinds of help to build a digital Bangladesh by 2021. In addition to creating ICT infrastructure in Bangladesh, digital transformation of the vertical industry, providing world class technology products to consumers and working a Huawei platform for ICT merchants. Thanks to the students to contribute to ICT sector of Bangladesh to achieve Vision-2021 a Digital Bangladesh.

The ‘Seeds for the FUTURE 2019’ contest started on 17 February and after the last one-and-half month election process, Today the ‘Seeds for the FUTURE 2019’ the Bangladesh episode ended.
